Term: Alleged implant: a small object found under the skin of a person who says it was placed there by non-human beings.
Term: Foreign body: any object, such as a splinter or shard of glass, that has entered the body from outside.
Term: Isotopic ratio: the proportion of different forms of the same element in a sample, used to judge whether a material is terrestrial.
Do Alien Implants Exist?
Some people who report abduction have had small objects removed from their bodies. Surgeon Roger Leir removed dozens and said some contained unusual metals and gave off radio signals. No independent laboratory has confirmed his analysis, and skeptics say the objects were ordinary foreign bodies such as glass or metal fragments. Nobody has fully explained what the objects are or how they got there.
The claim
Some people who report abduction experiences say they found small, hard objects under their skin, often in the hands, feet, or nasal passages, that they had no memory of receiving. Roger Leir began studying such cases in 1995 after he was asked at a UFO convention to review X-rays of people who said they had been abducted.
What Leir reported
Leir operated on a number of patients, roughly two dozen by common counts, and removed objects from them. He wrote The Aliens and the Scalpel in 1999 and Casebook: Alien Implants in 2000. He said laboratory tests showed that some objects had metals resembling those in meteorites, that some isotopic ratios were outside the normal range for Earth, and that some objects emitted radio waves. He said the surrounding tissue showed little sign of inflammation.
The limits of the record
No independent laboratory has confirmed his analysis. The claims that the objects were unusual come largely from Leir and his team. Skeptical investigator Joe Nickell argued that the objects were most likely ordinary items, such as shards of glass or metal fragments, that entered the body through accidents or barefoot walking and were enclosed by scar tissue.
What is solid and what is not
Objects were removed from people, and the operations are described in Leir’s books. That the objects were implants placed by non-human beings is not established. Implants are one of the nine reported effects in my book Disclosure: They Are Not Extraterrestrials. Disclosure is available on Amazon. You can find more of my work at ckqbooks.com.
