Mount Hermon
Also known as: Senir, Sirion, Baal-Hermon, the mountain of oath
The mountain on the northern border of ancient Israel identified in 1 Enoch as the descent point of the Watchers.
Mount Hermon is called Sirion by the Sidonians and Senir by the Amorites (Deuteronomy 3:9).
In 1 Enoch 6, it is the place where the Watchers descend and swear their oath — a play on the Hebrew root for "curse/oath" (herem).
The mountain remained a center of pagan cult worship for centuries and sits near Caesarea Philippi, "the gates of hell."
