The Watchers
Also known as: Grigori, sons of God, the fallen angels, irin
A class of angelic beings who, in 1 Enoch, descend to earth, take human wives, and teach forbidden knowledge.
The Watchers (Aramaic: irin) are named in Daniel 4 and described at length in the Book of the Watchers (1 Enoch 1-36).
Two hundred of them are said to have descended on Mount Hermon under the leadership of Semjaza and Azazel, binding themselves by a mutual oath.
Their union with human women produced the Nephilim, and their teaching of forbidden arts is presented as a source of corruption on the earth.
