Og of Bashan
Also known as: Og king of Bashan, last of the Rephaim
The giant king of Bashan defeated by Israel, described as the last remnant of the Rephaim.
Og ruled Bashan from Ashtaroth and Edrei and was defeated by Israel under Moses (Numbers 21:33-35).
Deuteronomy 3:11 records that he "remained of the remnant of the Rephaim" and describes his massive iron bedstead, roughly nine cubits long, as a marvel worth noting.
His defeat became a recurring reference point in Israel’s memory of conquering the giant clans east of the Jordan.
